Demonstrations
We are now able to produce our own traditional hand milled lead which is available for sale to the trade and public as well as for our own use. We can also offer mini bundles of lead to students. This is a good way of purchasing lead (25% cheaper than buying individual lengths). We also give demonstrations on how lead is milled. These are usually held in an evening with groups of 10-15 people.The demonstrations include the history of lead and it's usage, how it comes in 1cwt ingots and then heated and cast. An explanation of how the mill works follows and each person is given a casting of lead which they can feed into the mill and watch one length of 1/4 round camb form. This they may take home and use on their current project.
